I think what makes Mike Howe so popular is he is the type of person that would stop and have a beer with you and have a normal conversation....knowing where he started and how hard he worked to be where he is today is a great story, and the fact he builds some really awesome things doesn't hurt either...

Aww! That’s so cool! Your first build was a plywood boat. My first RC build was a Dumas RC nitro boat a 6 foot long fiberglass Wellcraft Scarab.

I was watching you guys at the beginning of all of the different prototypes you were building and testing. I remember you driving out the shop and out into the parking lot. For some reason and maybe just timing but testing was done in the snow. I just found you again with the boat adventures.

The hardware store changes were that they disconnected the air lines from the wastegates. This forced them shut for the whole run and created a nuclear reactor. The software changes were dumping fuel at the top the table and hoping the engines wouldnt lean out because there was no longer any boost control as they elected to create a nuclear reactor. Think Fate of the Furious when Dom is racing in cuba and pulls the string locking the waste gate shut and hoping for the best to win the race. Thats why the tuner was sitting there giggling and the owner was hesitant. The tuner knew full well he was about to create a bomb, and its not his money in the engines so he wants to see the theoretical max of what the engines could do before they melted down. Owner was hesitant because riding with an untested bomb with no boost control making probably closer to 3000hp is i n s a n e.

TurboSmart makes a great little hose clamp for pesky waste gate lines. A dab of Blue 242, that’s all it takes. We run 6.60s at 210 mph in a pretty heavy car 😊
